Do you like start your day with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee? 83% of American adults drink coffee, and 60% of them say that they have to have a cup to start their day. Those coffee drinkers spend nearly $200 every year on coffee alone. And if they frequent Starbucks much, that number is probably a whole lot higher. I don’t know about you, but I would never want to feel like I have to have coffee just to function as myself. It’s expensive, it’s often full of calories, and it’s hard on your heart. No thanks.
On the other hand, I’ve come up with this delicious and refreshing breakfast drink that perks me up. Not only does it help me wake up, this drink delivers a generous serving of vitamin C, firing up my immune system for the day which helps me to fight sickness. That matters to me more now than ever since we’re right in the middle of flu season.
So which would you rather have? A cup of coffee, loaded with sugar and creamer, that gives you a temporary energy buzz before it leaves you hanging, or a fresh, nutrient-packed cup of peachy orange juice that helps boost your immune system all day long? I know which one I’ll take. Take it from someone who worked night shift without ever drinking a cup of coffee. Pass the orange juice, please.
- 2 cups fresh-squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 cup frozen peaches
- Blend the fresh squeezed orange juice and frozen peaches together. Serve immediately.
